However, with our competitive member prices, many patients find they spend less on these services even without using their insurance. We recommend using insurance primarily for significant, catastrophic events like hospitalizations. Direct primary care goes well with insurance by offering cost-effective pricing for routine care while ensuring you are covered for major medical events. What if I do not have health insurance?No problem! Insurance is not necessary to access our services. With our practice, you'll pay a monthly membership fee along with any costs for testing and treatment as needed. We are committed to helping you make the most cost-effective choices for your medical care.

What does membership not cover?Becoming a member of Direct Wellness RVA does not include coverage for major health events such as emergency care and hospital stays. It also excludes surgery, specialist consultations, costs for external tests, and treatments. However, Direct Wellness RVA members benefit from negotiated rates on lab work, imaging, and common medications. We encourage having health insurance to help manage unexpected expenses.

What is the process for ending my membership with Direct Wellness RVA?If you decide to end your membership, please notify us to initiate the process. We require a 30-day notice so we can help you transition to your next primary care provider. This notice period allows us to ensure that your medical records are up to date and that you have a smooth transfer of care. Can I receive most of my healthcare services from Direct Wellness RVA through telemedicine?At Direct Wellness RVA, we prioritize your convenience and health. Most of your care can be provided via telemedicine through phone, video calls, email, or texting. This allows you to receive professional medical consultations and follow-up care from the comfort of your home. However, for some conditions and for your annual wellness physical, a physical exam will be necessary. Our dedicated team will work with you to determine when an in-person visit is required, ensuring you receive comprehensive and effective care tailored to your needs.
